Firestopping made simple, fast and versatile with the new CFS-D Firestop cable disc
The new CFS-D Firestop cable disc, giving electricians a simple, fast and versatile solution to firestop small holes, has been launched by Hilti. Each disc has a highly adhesive back and collar-type design, and can be simply surface mounted in 10 seconds or less with no additional tools, backfill, sealant or specialist knowledge required. The CFS-D is highly versatile and can be used across a broad range of base materials including drywall, concrete and masonry.
In addition to firestopping single cables and bundles of cables up to a maximum of 25mm diameter, the CFS-D Firestop cable discs can also accommodate metal pipes and conduits up to 16mm diameter.
Firestop is often seen as a troublesome issue by many electricians, so the challenge was to create a simple, fast and versatile solution. With no need for tools, sealant or specialist knowledge, each of the discs can potentially be installed in 10 seconds or less across a wide range of base materials. This single product approach makes them highly cost-effective as they bring tangible labour savings.
The Hilti CFS-D Firestop Cable Discs are sold in boxes of 32 and the device is the latest innovation in Hilti’s firestop portfolio. All products are tested to the latest EN 1366-3 and ETAG 026 European Standards and are also CE-marked to confirm ETA System One grading.
Hilti has also launched Firestop Selector to help customers choose the best firestop solution for the job. Available at http://fsselector.hilti.com, the user can select penetration type, base material and penetrating services and the software will generate the suitable products to meet the application requirements.
