New PIR offers increased detection range
A leading manufacturer of lighting controls, has developed a new range of ceiling-mounted, mid-range passive infrared (PIR) detectors that allow presence detection for ranges up to 15m.
Drawing on the success of CP Electronics acclaimed series of ceiling mounted PIR presence detectors, the company’s EBDMR features a domed lens which allows for greater detection. This design feature is particularly effective when the product is installed within large open plan spaces.
For many applications, where there are only two or three luminaires, one single EBDMR detector will cover an entire room. A typical office space could, for instance, employ half the normal number of detectors for efficient lighting control. This saves both time and money, keeping wiring work to a minimum.
CP are constantly looking for new ways to help contractors install products which deliver cost and energy savings for end users, and feel that the EBDMR product does exactly this and also saves the installer time and money.
The EBDMR range has been designed in a variety of RAL colours, versatile enough to suit a range of different applications. CP’s dimming variants can also facilitate daylight harvesting – the sensor detects levels of natural light and supplements the artificial light level accordingly.
