Earthing, Lightning and surge protection. We commence by listing the typical myths with lightning and earthing and then show examples of installations where hundreds of thousands of pounds have been wasted on incorrect lighting and surge protection and how to remedy this situation. Often these are minor errors but which invalidate all the protection that has so painstakingly been designed been built into the system.

Loop Tuning - tips and tricks. In this compressed discussion, we define the essentials of tuning, look at typical open and closed tuning procedures and examine typical applications with level, flow and temperature loops.

Myths and best practice with data Communications systems in hazardous areas. A practical examination of data communications systems in hazardous areas for Ethernet, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus and RS-485. Practical guidelines for best practice in designing your next industrial data communications system in a hazardous area will be provided.

Fieldbus,DeviceNet and Industrial Ethernet - a roadmap. We do a brief summary of each of the technologies and where they are most effectively applied and show the convergence that is occurring with the focus being on Industrial Ethernet. We then give some tips in installing Industrial Ethernet effectively in your next installation..
