Broader base
ODU has manufactured cable assemblies for a number of years, usually for customer specific requirements, but is now expanding this activity on a much broader base. The company stresses that it is not setting up a conventional assembly house but will be providing complete assemblies using its own connector products.
By keeping the process in-house ODU says that it will be able to offer advantages by designing the connector and cable interface for a specific project in many instances, rather than merely attaching a cable to an existing connector. This means that components can be more space efficient and the final product more economically priced.
