New LIF president – Peter Denny
In a career in the electrical and lighting industries spanning over 40 years, on his appointment as LIF’s new president, Peter Denny commented: “There is a great opportunity for the UK lighting industry to aid the country in the reduction of carbon emissions while simultaneously benefiting from it in growth terms.

“We need to strengthen the LIF membership, educate our businesses and customers, and lobby for the right base to pursue these goals”.

Mr Denny’s career began in the late 1960s as an electrical apprentice, through to project manager, with Northampton electrical contractor F Mitton & Son. He went on to the role of lighting sales engineer with Crompton Parkinson and Thorn Lighting, where he spent nearly 20 years, and became South East regional manager. He then joined Marlin Lighting as sales director, and is now sales and marketing director at Cooper Lighting UK, Doncaster.
