PRODUCT OF THE WEEK: Amtech 2009
The newly launched Amtech 2009 comprises upgraded and enhanced versions of FastTest, FastTest Domestic and FastTest Mobile, ProDesign and ProDesign Domestic and SingleCable software from Amtech Power Software. Many of these new features have been introduced in response to requests from customers.
As well as fully incorporating the requirements of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, key features across the entire range include new tools to increase productivity and profitability as well as smarter information sharing between desktop systems and mobile devices.
FastTest 2009, for example, offers faster searching and adding of boards within a certificate and enhanced board management tools, particularly when multiple engineers have worked on one installation. Like its predecessors, FastTest 2009 also offers the option of printing certificates onto plain paper, rather than having to buy pre-printed certificates, thus providing significant cost savings as well as enhanced productivity.
FastTest Mobile 2009, which has been completely re-written, builds on the success of former versions and includes new features that have been requested by customers. These include the ‘multi-engineer import’ facility, which allows data from several PDAs to be merged into the main database.
ProDesign also benefits from customer feedback with a brand new ‘Green Energy Loss Module’ that allows fast calculation of conductor energy losses and assessment of related CO2 emissions. In addition, there are now three sections for consumer units backed by enhanced circuit diagram graphics to display more realistic consumer unit layouts and contents – along with a host of many other new tools. New features in ProDesign Domestic 2009 include the ability to ensure installation methods are compliant with the 17th Edition, as well as facilities for managing multi-split consumer units.
One of the many new features in SingleCable 2009 is the ‘overload settings pop-up’ making it easier and quicker to adjust devices when making overload settings.
