Chloride Acquires P.E.S.

Chloride, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and services, announced today that it has acquired Power and Electronic Services (PES), a leading supplier of critical power protection solutions. Chloride will now have a physical presence in Ireland to address the growing needs of the country’s power protection industry.

Founded in 2003, PES focuses on all critical power requirements for the Irish market and has a significant installed base that includes the Bank of Ireland and a host of other financial services organisations throughout the country. By acquiring PES, Chloride is now in a stronger position to improve its service to both its existing customers and the existing PES installed base. Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems are invaluable to not only prevent loss of information but also the systems themselves, which is extremely damaging to the bottom line of any organisation. Chloride solutions are installed in a wide-variety of institutions that rely heavily on business continuity including large data centres, DVLA, high street banks as well as many of the world’s renowned investment banks based at Canary Wharf.

“With the growing demand for critical power supply systems in the Irish market, it is important that end users have a leading provider to turn to on the ground,” said PES Managing Director, Brian O’Neill. “We have enjoyed great success during the five years since we formed the company, and we know that Chloride will provide value to our existing client base, whilst nurturing the legacy of PES in the Irish market. “

Commented James Coughlan, Chloride’s Sales Manager for Ireland, “Since the collapse of Motogen, the Irish market hasn’t had a single vendor to address its needs. Our acquisition of PES will strengthen Chloride’s position in the Irish market, as PES has built an excellent reputation for the quality of its service provision, and Chloride is fully committed to supporting existing PES customers. We are also eagerly anticipating working with new customers to bring the benefits of our technology and expertise to Ireland, in order to meet the country’s expanding UPS requirements. It’s a great opportunity in an exciting marketplace.”
