Please help out a technically challenged editor!

Day one at Electrical Products & Applications…and I am immediately reminded of how difficult it is to do a job that you know inside-out when you have to use technology or equipment that you are unaccustomed to!

Suzanne Gill

It is my job to bring you all the latest news about the gadgets and technologies that are designed to make your life easier but, sometimes, new technology can be daunting, even when we know it will eventually offer us huge benefits!

I am sure that many of us are content to struggle along with old equipment, rather than spare the time to learn about something new and better. So, I was pleased when I saw a press release from  Megger. It accepts that we cannot all immediately become experts at using new equipment and is offering a free DVD training presentation that shows in detail how to use all the functions offered by its MFT1500 series multifunction testers. This also gives existing users the opportunity to make sure that they are getting the best from their instruments.  Further details about Megger’s multifunction testers and how to get a copy of the DVD are listed below.

I have just replaced Richard Scott as editor here at EPA. For many years I worked on an electrical engineering magazine, but have been out of the electrical industry for nearly two years, so I would appreciate your comments and views on the magazine, website, our newsletters, and importantly, the electrical industry today.  I need to catch up fast and would really appreciate a bit of input from you about what you do and don’t like about the magazine!  Please email me with your views and comments at suzanne.gill@imlgroup.co.uk
