Put a KUVA on to protect your first fix!
On a recent visit to Elex 2009 at the Ricoh Stadium, in Coventry the EPA team came upon an innovative time saving idea for both electrical and data cabling projects invented by Antoni Pobiarzyn of AKA Innovation, who told us he was a plasterer by trade, as well as an inventor.
His latest development is KUVA, a range of plastic covers designed to protect both single and double back boxes following first-fix.
KUVA forms part of the ElecProTect range of products that have been developed to offer time and cost savings in the construction trade.
KUVA offers a simple solution to a problem that has plagued electricians for as long as there have been plasterers in the world, and we could not believe that no-one has come up with a solution before! The plastic KUVA is simply placed over the back box after the first-fix. The cover protects the exposed wires and the back box screw threads, and allows the plasterer to happily plaster straight over the back box – as a raised removal tab on the KUVA will show the electrician where the sockets are, when he returns to do the final fix.
A KUVA can be fitted and removed in seconds. The K1 is the single cover offering and the K2 is designed to perfectly fit a twin back box. They both offer a safe and easy way to keep back boxes clean from plaster, paint and dust during construction.
