Michael Lyons from Lyons Electrical said: "The Company has now been trading for 31 years, and is very proud to now count the Rochester Bridge Trust as one of its clients.

"Being a born and bred local man myself, I realise the enormous prestige and significance of this contract, and look forward to helping the Trust with the ongoing maintenance of the Bridges, and surroundings.

Bridge Clerk Sue Threader said: "The Trust is delighted to have appointed Lyons Electrical as its electrical contractor, particularly as it is a local business. As a charity that receives no public funding to maintain the bridges for the travelling public, it is important to find a contractor that can provide value for money. We look forward to a mutually beneficial working relationship with Lyons."
