Better safe than sorry!

Everyone involved in the supply, design, or installation of machine safety systems should by now be aware of the changing EU Machinery Directive requirements, which come into force on 29th December, this year. It is important to be aware that there is no transition period for this directive, so those affected will need to be able to demonstrate compliance immediately – Happy Christmas everyone!

Better safe than sorry!

One of the stipulations of this new EU Directive is that member states should introduce penalties that are ‘effective and dissuasive’ so this is certainly an issue which should be well researched and understood by all those affected.

In the December issue of Electrical Products & Applications we will be taking a close look at the requirements and implications of this new legislation for electrical engineers, but in the meantime, I am keen to get your views on the new Directive and what effect you believe it will have on your business.

I look forward to hearing from you…e-mail me now at suzanne.gill@imlgroup.co.uk
