Dual Colour Strobe Adds Further Flexibility to 7-Message Voice Sounder

Vimpex has developed a dual colour strobe version of its popular Fire-Cryer® Plus 7-message voice sounder. Designed for applications such as DDA-compliant alarms, bomb and terrorist alerts and gas suppression warnings, the new unit features high-output super-bright white and amber LEDs with a clear lens for maximum visibility.

Dual Colour Strobe Adds Further Flexibility to 7-Message Voice Sounder

This innovative product can broadcast 7 different voice messages and activate any combination of the white and amber strobes using just a standard 2-core sounder circuit - a very flexible solution for voice evacuation and signalling applications. The messages and strobes are fully synchronised with any other Fire-Cryers® in the building.

Kettering General Hospital is an excellent example of how the flexibility of the new dual strobe Fire-Cryer® Plus is helping to ensure safe evacuation in the event of a fire. Each unit at the hospital has been programmed with the bell tone which precedes the voice message to ensure compatibility with the rest of the site's fire alarm system. To aid the hearing impaired, the two strobes are used to differentiate between alert and evacuation - amber strobe for 'Alert', white strobe for 'Evacuate'. Use of the Fire-Cryer's® special auto 'All Clear' facility gives an automatic 'All Clear!' message once an alert is cancelled. The combination of the common bell tone, clear and unambiguous voice messages and dual strobes ensures that there is no confusion when building evacuation is required.

When used in gas suppression systems the unit can be programmed to activate the amber strobe during pre-alarm or pre-gas release stages and the white strobe during alarm or when the gas is released. Either strobe can also be programmed to not activate when a particular message is broadcast, for example in test message mode.

The dual strobe unit is the latest addition to the Fire-Cryer® Plus family of products, which can all broadcast 7 user-definable messages. The range includes the Mini Fire-Cryer® base sounder, high-output Midi and Maxi Fire-Cryers® for industrial applications, and Animate®, the low frequency animal friendly device. The combination of 7 messages and a wide-range of compatible voice sounders ensure that the Fire-Cryer® Plus remains the most advanced range of voice sounders currently available and will continue to be the first choice for designers, installers and end-users.

The Fire-Cryer® Plus voice message sounders provide simple, cost-effective voice annunciation for all forms of evacuation and information broadcast. Each unit can be programmed with up to 7 messages from a library of thousands, many of which are multi-lingual, ensuring that any site requirement can be fulfilled. They require no special wiring and can be retrofitted to existing installations. The units can be fully synchronised and have a low current consumption allowing simple replacement of existing sounders and bells.
