Fire detection developed for HMOs

Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) have unique fire detection requirements. They combine the challenges of multiple occupancy dwellings with high levels of sleeping risk. Apollo has designed its AlarmSense range of conventional fire detection and alarm products specifically to meet the needs of HMOs.

Fire detection developed for HMOs

The AlarmSense range comprises standard and integrating optical smoke detectors, rate-of-rise and static heat detectors, manual call point and alarm relay. The selection of bases includes a standard base, sounder base or sounder beacon base.

AlarmSense features priority/non-priority signaling, which enables occupants in an individual dwelling to be warned of a local incident and gives them the opportunity to deal with a non-fire alarm. If the detector remains in alarm after two minutes, the system raises a full evacuation throughout the premises. The range also incorporates a number of features to reduce false alarms, including RemovAlertTM, which monitors the presence of a detector head and helps to reduce malicious interference.

All AlarmSense devices connect to the same pair of supply wires, reducing cabling costs and installation time, and are powered and controlled using purpose-designed control and indicating equipment.

Although originally developed for HMOs, AlarmSense is equally appropriate for schools, shops, workshops, smaller office units and studios.
