Rittal has launched a genuine 2U system, the ‘pre-shrunk’ PicoTCA. The system is equipped with a 350W power supply with power management, a fully compliant backplane and mechanics, which allow the accommodation of up to nine full size AMCs or six full size and six half size AMCs, and push-pull cassette fan trays with a filter on the air inlet.
A full integration guide is included to further facilitate the ‘plug-and-play’ operation of the unit, and show how easily it can be configured to work with different protocols.
MicroTCA products, based on a nominal 2U high module, can save a minimum 30% of space in comprehensive rack mounted systems, says the company.
