Legrand meets new media needs

Legrand has demonstrated its media savvy approach to product development by launching a new media plate that delivers neat, compact installations, which meet the needs of today’s digitally advanced TV and home entertainment audiences.

Legrand meets new media needs

The new monobloc plate is delivered fully fitted for use with satellite applications that feature live TV and recording facilities, such as Sky+ and V+. It features two independent satellite in-feeds, one terrestrial TV socket, one video return socket and a secondary telephone point to meet requirements of satellite systems. In addition, the plate provides two Synergy 2 gang switched double pole 13A sockets. All of which means up to four items can be plugged in at any one time, providing the end user with the scope to power their TV, DVD, games console and stereo from one small, compact plate.

Meanwhile, the plate has been designed so that it can be used in conjunction with Legrand’s stylish Synergy range of wiring devices, and is available in all finishes, including Synergy modern which is supplied with anthracite interiors and decorative rockers.

Commenting on the new product, Mark Evans, Legrand’s marketing director, said: "In the past the configuration of TVs and related hardware was so varied that it was virtually impossible to cater for all requirements in one standard solution. This was why we previously developed and offered a modular based TV corner unit which enabled a wide variety of functions to be mixed and matched according to individual requirements.

"However, the advent of satellite units that deliver a wide variety of functions, and the increasingly widespread use of them in homes across the country, has meant a fixed solution has quickly become more desirable – a need that we have met with the development and launch of our new media plates."

The new Legrand media plate has the same dimensions as its predecessor, the Synergy Mosaic TV corner, but is oriented in landscape as opposed to portrait. It uses a new 35mm deep phase barrier back box (820458), which is simply installed in a landscape orientation with the smaller segment on the right.

Legrand has a 19 per cent share of the global wiring device market and 15 per cent share of the global cable management market, making the company the world leader in both areas.
