Mini battery crimping tool
Klauke has recently launched the Mini+. The new EK50/5-L in-line tool delivers 50kN of force now making the crimping of larger cable lugs possible and it weighs just 2.4kg, including the battery and has a crimping range of 6mm ² up to 240mm² (KL standard copper cable lugs).
In addition, with the new `Intelligent Pressing System’ (IPS), every crimp is monitored to ensure the correct force is achieved. The operator is notified of the tool status via visual and acoustic signals.
Other features of the new tool include 18V Li-Ion batteries, which provide 50% more power with a full battery charge achieved in just 15mins. Tool interrogartion can be achieved using an optical interface which allows the crimping history to be downloaded and printed as a quality control certificate.
Economics have also been considered. Each tool is manufactured with a two component soft grip for maximum comfort and to minimise work fatigue (RSI). Further, the ability to pre-load a cable lug in the crimping head allows a free hand to hold the cable in place, helping to increase accuracy.
