Designed specifically to withstand the harshest of industrial environments, Vacon’s new X Series AC variable speed drives combine ingress protection ratings up to IP66 with compact construction and outstanding versatility. Ease of use is assured by the simple yet powerful Vacon X range programming system, together with easy-to-read displays and keypads that feature an enhanced design with colour-coded buttons.
X Series drives are available in two versions. Vacon 50X drives offer straightforward operation and fast set up for standard applications, while Vacon 500X drives meet the requirements of the most demanding applications by providing advanced features such as data capture and Ethernet connectivity. Both versions are available with power ratings from 0.75 kW to 132 kW.
Vacon 50X drives provide multi-language support for programming, which means there are no complex codes to learn. For maximum convenience, programming can be carried out using the built-in keypad or wirelessly from a Pocket PC. The drives also offer integrated PLC functionality and are compatible with a wide range of application macros to further simplify set up and operation.
With IP66 enclosures for ratings up to 75 kW and IP55 for higher ratings, Vacon 50X drives are capable of withstanding washdown at pressures up to 75 bar from a minimum distance of 15 cm. They feature a double labyrinth seal to guard against the ingress of dust, dirt, oil and water, and they have a special arctic operating mode that maintains a safe operating temperature in cold environments.
Featuring the same rugged packaging as the Vacon 50X models, the top-of-the-range Vacon 500X drives add extra functionality, including a real-time clock and enhanced PLC functions. They also offer data capture, event logs and reminder warnings as standard, and provide system-level access to drive parameters for precise control and maximum flexibility.
Options available for Vacon 500X drives include provision for encoder feedback, support for Ethernet IP, DeviceNet and Modbus TCP communication protocols, and a 115 V AC control interface. Internal Class 3 EMC filters are available for 400 V models.
