Legrand rolls back prices for synergy celebration

To mark five years since its launch, Legrand has rolled back the prices on its Synergy Modern decorative wiring devices as it seeks to further broaden the appeal of the popular range. The birthday promotion will see prices revert to the trade prices they were at when the range was launched in 2005.

And on top of that, Legrand will also be giving away free products throughout the three month promotion. It all begins on April 7th, 2010 and will last until 30th June 2010, marking a period of change from purely specification sales and project work to additional over the counter sales.
Legrand marketing director, Mark Evans said: "In the five years since its launch Synergy has been installed in a host of prestigious developments from five star hotels to state-of-the-art residential developments, multi-million pound commercial buildings and new-build educational facilities across the UK and beyond.

"It is a firmly established favourite amongst many interior designers and specifiers and so we feel now is the right time to broaden its scope and give those working on smaller scale jobs the opportunity to appreciate what it can bring to an installation."

Synergy was developed with the aim of changing the way people looked at and thought about wiring devices. Instead of seeing them simply as functional accessories Legrand wanted them to be seen as interior design features. All of which needed to be done while still meeting the practical and safety needs of installers and end users.

From a design point of view, Synergy has a timeless style that will not fall foul of changing fashion trends. All of its decorative accessories are available in two distinctly different forms, Modern and Traditional, both of which are available in a choice of stylish finishes that cater for any ‘warm’ and ‘cool’ design themes.

And while the standard white finish has been Synergy’s biggest seller, the decorative finishes have proved extremely popular in developments where interior style is a key focus.

Synergy Modern is available in nickel, silver, matt black and black nickel finishes, and the Traditional range has the choice of brushed steel, polished steel and satin brass finishes. The entire range has a signature look as the result of a contoured rocker on all switch-operated products and a 3-light LED display, available with red lights to indicate power or green lights to highlight location, which is invisible on all white products until activated and is a subtle design feature on all decorative products.

Technologically, Synergy combines the future-proofing of Voice, Data and Image (VDI) accessories with the flexibility and functionality of a comprehensive grid system that can support between 1 and 24 modules. It also incorporates a patented true 3-pin safety shutter on all sockets – a development that means all three pins must be inserted prior to it being activated.

The system also features a complete range of compatible surface mounted back boxes, compact mechanisms that maximise wiring space, large angled screw entries and clear laser marking as standard. In addition, all terminals are deep and have an easy cable entry design and all mechanisms are supplied with backed-off screws.

Since its launch Synergy has evolved to meet changing market needs. For example, media plates were recently added to the Synergy Modern range to satisfy the complex wiring requirements of today’s digitally enhanced multimedia homes.

Recent additions to the Synergy Traditional range include black accessories that comply with the visual contrast requirements of Part M regulations, and a range of sockets specifically designed for use in healthcare establishments, which meet the requirements stipulated in the Medical Electrical Installation Guidance Notes (MEIGaN).
