C-TEC’s XFP installed at Newcastle’s new Namco gaming centre
C-TEC's innovative XFP analogue addressable fire alarm panel is proving a hit at Newcastle's fantastically funky Namco Fun Station.
In a project completed by specialist electrical installation company, Solid State, the LPCB-approved fire alarm control panel is now at the heart of the life safety systems at the trendy new entertainment centre.
Says Solid State's Installation Manager, Mark Suffolk, who oversaw the operation: "Newcastle Namco is the biggest one yet and it was really exciting to be part of the project. Working on behalf of EIC
Northern, we installed a 2-loop 32-zone XFP fire alarm control panel which utilizes over 200 Apollo XP95 detectors and C-TEC-manufactured loop powered sounders and beacons".
Located in the Gateshead Shopping Centre, the new £4 million centre is the largest interactive entertainment venue in Newcastle.
Measuring 3500 square metres and stacked full of up-to-the-minute amusement arcade games and computerised toys, the venue is set to attract thousands as it not only houses the latest gaming technology but also a bowling alley, restaurant and the fastest dodgems track in Europe.
Two of C-TEC's NC951 disabled persons toilet alarms have also been installed to provide the Fun Station's disabled washrooms with alarm facilities to alert staff in the event of an emergency. A 48-speaker voice alarm system is also in operation at the site.
