Dimplex FXLi offers advanced fan storage performance

Dimplex has enhanced its popular FXL range of fan assisted storage heaters to create the FXLi range, offering even better performance, control and economy than ever.

Dimplex FXLi offers advanced fan storage performance

Fan assisted storage is listed as the recommended upgrade for storage heating systems within the guidelines of Energy Performance Certificates, now mandatory for all homes whenever built, rented or sold. Use of the FXLi range can add up to six points to a property’s SAP rating – especially important bearing in mind this year’s update to Part L.

Although only a little larger than conventional storage heaters, the FXLi range has two and a half times the insulation of conventional designs, efficiently retaining more useful heat in the core of the heater until required. This means little or no requirement for heat top-up from daytime energy supplies, resulting in a running cost reduction of up to 25 percent for the user, as well as reduced carbon emissions for the property.

Selectable on installation, a new fan inhibitor helps to optimise performance by limiting fan use during charge periods, ensuring a fast and efficient core warm-up.

In addition, a new compact model has been added to the range, allowing smaller rooms to benefit from the economy offered by fan assisted storage heating. The FXL12i is just 560mm wide and has a storage input loading of 1.7kW, extending the existing range which features input loadings of up to 3.4kW. On all models a 1.5kW boost element gives a fast heat top up if required.

The range features a fully automatic charge system which ensures the right amount of heat is stored, whatever the weather, requiring no adjustment by the user and giving excellent economy on all tariffs. The system monitors both the room temperature and temperature of the storage core.

A low noise centrifugal fan draws heat through the hot core to deliver heat as and when required, resulting in an even thermostatically-controlled room temperature and high user comfort levels. For commercial environments, a high fan speed can be selected for faster core heat discharge if required.

The FXLi range is BEAB approved, for an additional assurance of independent and ongoing safety tests, and comes with a two year guarantee.
