EDA Annual Dinner
At the Electrical Distributors Association’s Annual Dinner in London’s Hotel InterContinental on 11 March, over 400 guests raised £5,125 from a raffle which was supported by Philips Lighting who provided an HD Ready LCD Digital Crystal Clear television.
The event also played host to the presentation of the eighth EDA Learning and Development Achievement Awards which recognise the accomplishment of students in two categories of EDA Learning and Development. The presentation was hosted by Bill Balmer, the new Chairman of EDA’s Learning and Development Working Group. The learners received their awards from EDA President, Martin Whitby.
First place went to Callum Bullimore of Senate Electrical in Nottingham. Second place was awarded to Claire Walsh of Western Electrical in Plymouth. Third place was awarded to Ian Price of Denmans in Walsall.
The Apprenticeships provide on-the-job training which is aimed at people in the electrical wholesale industry who wish to take the opportunity to learn within the workplace.
The Advanced Apprenticeship award was presented to Michelle Cooke and Donna Griggs of European Lamp Group in Bradford. Michelle and Donna both completed a Level 3 in Customer Service.
