Electrical apprentices strive for the highest standards

Following on from the news from City & Guilds, which reveals that electrical courses are now the most popular with students ElectricFix has conducted research which highlights the desire of these new electrical apprentices to achieve the highest standards.

Electricfix’s research among apprentices in the trade revealed some interesting findings. Almost three quarters of young electricians believe that completing work to a high standard is the most important part of their occupation.

Nearly a third of electrical apprentices entered the profession because of the good opportunities it offers, and 93% hope to undertake further training during their career.

When prompted to look 10 years into the future, the majority of young electricians (68%) said they are looking forward to being their own boss and running their own company. Nearly three quarters of apprentices hope to achieve this by continuing to work with their current employer once qualified to gain necessary experience before starting out on their own.
