Ancho housing association selects Aico multi-sensor as standard

ANCHO, a progressive housing association in North Ayrshire, has chosen to use Aico’s unique Multi-Sensor mains powered fire alarm as standard across its properties.

Ancho housing association selects Aico multi-sensor as standard

No stranger to Aico alarms – ANCHO has been using them in its 900 properties for around ten years – the decision to use the Multi-Sensor was based on its ability to detect a wide range of fire types quicker than single sensor alarms, whilst also significantly reducing the chance of false alarms.

The Multi-Sensor achieves this through its two separate sensors – Optical and Heat.  As such, the unit is capable of monitoring two very different by-products of a fire – smoke and heat – so its response to all fire types is significantly improved when compared with traditional single sensor type units.  This also makes it less vulnerable to false alarms.

The Multi-Sensor is now being used by ANCHO as the standard alarm for all its properties to replace existing fire alarms as they reach the end of their natural life.  They are being installed as part of a four year Framework agreement covering 540 properties initially.

Scott Hutchison, Property Services Manager at ANCHO, has not only been impressed with Aico’s product offering but also by the company itself: “The service from Aico has been excellent”.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Ei Electronics, Aico is the first name in residential fire protection in the UK.  Aico fire alarms are designed and built in Europe specifically to meet the UK standards and regulations.  For more information please visit www.aico.co.uk.
