Fire detection and prevention from Firesafe
While Life Safety is the priority with Fire Alarm system design, one of the main criteria is automatic detection. The enforcing authority responsible for the building or premises would insist on smoke or heat detectors.

Depending on the application there are different types of Firesafe detectors available.
Optical – sometimes know as the photoelectric smoke detector, it typically operates on the principle of infra red light refracting off smoke particles entering the chamber.
The chamber within this unit is highly tolerant to the inevitable long term build up of dust and other airborne contaminations.
Combined Photo Thermal – today’s replacement to the ionisation detector that is becoming more of an issue to the environment and local authorities where disposal is concerned.
Made up of both a photoelectric chamber and a thermal element to provide the contractor with an option of a true multi-criteria unit when installing the product.
Heat/Thermal detectors will be used where smoke detection is unsuitable or undesirable. Both fixed temperature and rate of rise heat detectors are available dependant on the application and the design.
Boasting an array of features, the new Firesafe conventional detectors have been developed to compliment Firesafes’ Fire Alarm Systems and aid the installing engineer or responsible person on site looking after the fire system.
The conventional detectors are aesthetically pleasing and have a housing to compliment any decoration.
To minimise dust contamination the Firesafe range is supplied as standard c/w both front and rear dust covers. They also use 360 degree multi-view alarm indication led’s - where any typical conventional detector would only carry 180 degree variants.
The wiring terminals are clearly marked for the installer and the base supplies convenient wiring space.
There are fitting alignment marks to ensure head and base are installed properly and head to base locking facility for ease of assemble and to prevent un authorised detector removal. The base of the product has a built in 470ohm/680ohm resistor and a built in schottky diode.
