Carlo Gavazzi Brings Focus to Energy and Controls Markets

Carlo Gavazzi UK is extending its management team to help it meet the demands of the fast-growing renewable energy and building management markets. Amir Sami is joining the company as business development manager responsible for energy and controls.
Alan Hickman, managing director of Carlo Gavazzi UK commented, “The energy and controls markets are evolving rapidly on a global scale. The appointment of Amir will enable us to continue developing and supporting our UK customers in this strategically important market. I am positive that Amir brings the drive and determination to the team that will invigorate our business in this market.”
Amir will take responsibility for sales management and strategy for Carlo Gavazzi’s energy and controls product ranges and will work closely with the dedicated UK-wide distribution network to support customers on control, renewable energy and building management solutions.
Commenting on his new position, he said: “I am confident that there is great potential for growth with Carlo Gavazzi’s control and energy solutions and I’m looking forward hugely to meeting our loyal customers and forging even stronger relationships.”
Amir gained a B.Eng. in Electronics Engineering in 2004 and began his career with Carphone Warehouse in the Express Engineering Division. This led to a team leadership role for express repair retail stores, before progressing to sales and sales management with specialist electrical distributors in the automation industry. Prior to joining Carlo Gavazzi, Amir worked extensively on international projects for rail and lift applications.
