Ethos’s emergency lighting certificate books
Ethos offer a range of Emergency Lighting certificate books. The ETHOS 7951 is an Emergency Lighting Certificate book which is a requirement of BS5266 part 1: and therefore meet their legal obligations in the UK. If any emergency lights are installed without providing a log-book, the installing contractor has not met the standards which he is required to work to.
The Ethos certificate books provide simple instruction and layout to help ensure that regular checks and tests are made on the premises.
It is advisable to give monthly test of self contained luminaires. By simulation of a failure of the normal lighting supply, for sufficient time to allow all luminaires to be checked for proper function.
Ethos also offers the books for installers of emergency lighting. The Ethos 7952 Emergency Lighting Periodic Certificate and the Ethos 7953 Emergency Lighting Design and Installation Certificate.
The certificate’s enables an easy check-list to be created to detail the work necessary to bring existing systems up to standard.
Annual tests of self contained and central battery systems should be carried out by simulation of a failure of the normal lighting supply, for a continuous period, for its full duration. During the test, check all luminaries for proper function.
