Fires add harmony
Dimplex fires are adding extra harmony to the retail environment at music store Chappell of Bond Street, providing three welcoming focal points for musicians and visitors to the 11,500 sq ft premises.
Located in central London and recently relocated to a Grade II listed building on Wardour Street, the prestigious showrooms and spacious sales areas for instruments, music production and sheet music are arranged over three floors.
But the fireplaces around the property lacked some warmth and ‘soul’, explains Store Manager Nigel Hill.
“It’s a beautiful building which was originally built by music publishing company Novello, so it’s the perfect place to continue that tradition and heritage. But its lovely original fireplaces remained lifeless and we thought of all sorts of alternatives but nothing seemed to work as we also needed any decoration to fit with the character of our business which has been established for over 200 years,” he said.
As the Dimplex Optiflame and Opti-myst stove effect fires simply plug in and the flame effects can be lit independently of heat and are fume-free, these provided the ideal answer to satisfy the aesthetic and health and safety requirements for Hill.
“These fires are ideal for a busy retail environment as they meet all our needs as they look like a welcoming real fire but we don’t have to worry about fumes, mess or overheating and most importantly, they add life and a warm welcome for our customers,” adds the Manager.
A Dimplex Piermont fire stands in the fireplace in the entrance foyer and forms a focal point feature for displays. A freestanding traditional style Stockbridge stove is on the landing while the Cadogan is in the wood panelled piano hall.
