British Safety Council launches 2012 International Safety Awards
The British Safety Council is pleased to announce that its International Safety Awards 2012 scheme is now open for applications. This scheme enables the British Safety Council to recognise the commitment of organisations, in all sectors and across the globe, to good health and safety management.
The International Safety Awards are open to all organisations, both members and non-members of the British Safety Council. The awards relate to individual sites and business units allowing organisations to enter as many sites or business units as they wish. The detailed marking scheme which underpins the International Safety Awards, which is available to all applicants, sets out the scores that have to be achieved in order to gain a pass, merit and distinction.
Last year there were 602 applications, 90% of which were successful. The 33 distinction winning organisations were from a wide range of sectors including construction, education, energy generation and transmission, facilities management, food and drink, manufacturing, oil and gas, public services, transport and distribution and utilities.
Details of the British Safety Council International Awards Scheme including the registration form can be accessed at https://www.britsafe.org/isa
The closing date for applications is 29 February 2012. The results will be formally announced on 23 March 2012.
Winning organisations will be invited to attend the British Safety Council’s awards banquet at the Grosvenor House in London on 18 May to celebrate their success.
