Dimplex chips in for charity golf day
Dimplex has sponsored a Legends Charity Golf Day, which raised over £29,000 for local charities.
The event was hosted by football personality Harry Redknapp and took place at the Remedy Oak Golf Club in Dorset, where Redknapp is a member. He was joined by a number of amateur golfers and some friends from the sporting world, including Jamie Redknapp, Brian Lara, Matt le Tissier and Clive Allen.
After the tournament, a dinner for over 100 guests was held at the golf club where auctions and raffles boosted the funds raised, benefiting local charities Naomi House, Julia’s House, Round Table Children’s Wish and Friends of Dolphin.
Dimplex Managing Director Stuart Mackenzie said: “The total raised by this enjoyable and extremely competitive day’s golf was amazing, with each charity receiving close to £7,500. Dimplex is extremely pleased to have had the opportunity to sponsor the event, and we’re grateful to Harry and all the other players who gave their time to support it. We’re already looking forward to sponsoring the Harry Redknapp Legends Charity Golf Day in 2012.”
The winning team was Steve Tripcony with Bob Nichol and Steve Davies from Parkstone Golf Shop, playing with sporting legend David Howells.
