Europe’s biggest engineering society welcomes £1m engineering prize

The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) has welcomed the opening of nominations for the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering.

The engineering award, the world’s largest at £1million, invites nominations from all over the world, celebrating the greatest engineering feats that benefit humankind.

Nigel Fine, IET CEO (pictured), said: “An award such as the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering is a very important way of acknowledging and rewarding those who have created real outstanding benefits to humankind.

“In the UK, the Prize will also entice and enthuse a new generation of men and women into the wide variety of engineering roles that provide rewarding careers for many, and which is vital to the robust health of our economy.”
