New truly portable high voltage VLF (very low frequency) test system for 11kV cables from the world’s market leaders in VLF.

The HVA28 is a dry type test system (it has no oil filled components) capable of

producing 0 - 28kV peak pure sine wave (20kV RMS), ± 28kV DC or 28kV peak

square wave.

The output frequency is adjustable from 0.1 to 0.01Hz. This enables the system to

test 0.5µF at 20kV at 0.1 Hz, and up to 5µF.at 0.01Hz at 20kV.

Because of the totally dry type construction the HVA28 weights only 14kg and with

dimensions 430 x 240 x 340 mm the unit can be easily carried and transported to

site. The unit is protected by a watertight, crushproof and dust proof case to IP67.

The unit is able to operate over a temperature range from -5°C to +45°C with a

storage temperature range of -25°C to +70°C.

The system is controlled from a large full colour LCD display and can be

programmed to suit almost any customer specific routine. The LCD display also

provides for measurement of output voltage and current as well as load capacitance,

insulation resistance, test time, all together with a unique oscilloscope feature that

displays HV output waveform and so any point of breakdown on the waveform during

testing.

For communications the unit is fitted with a USB port and Bluetooth as standard. The

test systems results can be analysed using the HVA Control Centre Software.

The HVA28TD has integrated Tan Delta (TD) measurement diagnostics.

Each test system is supplied with a 5m output cable, clear silicon rubber earth cable,

30kV discharge / earthing stick and a full operating manual.

Both models are housed in waterproof, crushproof and dust proof case to IP67. In

addition the units feature a DDD system (Dual Discharge Device) which a an

electronic and mechanical means of discharging the capacitive test load.
