Safety standards exceeded for outdoor wiring

Outdoor wiring accessories range Sollysta IP66, by leading electrical solutions and services provider Hager, has undergone testing beyond the British Standards to ensure optimum safety ahead of the garden improvement season. 

Sollysta IP66 is a range of wiring accessories for use in indoor and outdoor applications where wiring accessories may be vulnerable to the potentially harmful effects of dust or water ingress.

British Standards state that all switches must comply with BS EN 60669, meaning that Sollysta IP66 switches are tested as a complete unit; however there is no current requirement for the sockets to be tested in the same way. Despite this, Hager repeats the relevant product tests as a finished item in the same way as the switches, ensuring that the enclosure does not adversely affect the product performance. In doing so, Hager ensures optimum safety of the complete solution to reduce the risk of potential hazards such as heat rise.

Safety standards are taken extremely seriously at Hager. This is demonstrated via a dedicated facility at the manufacturing plant in Telford responsible for assessing various Hager products from sites across the world due to its rigorous testing process. 

Sollysta IP66 is manufactured from a tough, durable thermoplastic using Hager’s proven Sollysta wiring accessories on the inside.
