Powerful brushless motor for efficiency and precision
A new benchmark in drywall screwdrivers has been unveiled by DEWALT®, and is the latest tool to join its comprehensive XR® portfolio. The high-performance cordless model, which features innovative Brushless motor technology, has been designed for maximum runtime and reliability in applications such as drywall construction and the installation of boarding, decking and metal cladding.
Combined with a high capacity XR 2.0Ah 18V Lithium-ion battery pack, the powerful Brushless motor drives screws with speed, efficiency and precision, offering extended productivity on the job site. Furthermore, the well-balanced and lightweight body of the DCF620 minimises user fatigue, thereby increasing the period of operation during repetitive or intensive professional applications.
Professional dry lining contractors are often under significant time pressure to accurately install large volumes of drywall in a single working day – so productivity is extremely important. The smooth action of the DEWALT collated mechanism, and the extreme runtime associated with the XR Brushless motor and high capacity battery packs will effectively eliminate any downtime associated with the tool – maximising user productivity.
The DCF620 conforms to DeWALT’s ‘Guaranteed Tough’ philosophy and has been designed for long-term durability and to withstand significant exposure to drywall dust in the working environment. Additional features include an ergonomically contoured rubber handle for extra user comfort when using the tool in either an ‘in-line’ or ‘pistol-grip’ hand position, an integrated LED light for increased visibility in low light or hard to reach spaces, as well as a quick release and easy to clean collated screw magazine opening for the rapid removal of drywall residue.
The tool is available as a bare unit or complete with two high-capacity 18V 2.0Ah XR Lithium-ion battery packs featuring a state of charge indicator, a multi-voltage charger and heavy-duty TSTAK II kit box. The DCF620 comes with a three year limited warranty available on registration.
A brushed motor within standard professional power tools contain small carbon brushes, which generate friction as the motor spins. This results in precious energy from the battery being lost as heat. The DeWALT XR Brushless motor dramatically reduces this wasted effort, meaning more energy from the battery is committed to the actual application – giving the user a huge increase in the runtime of their tool. A cooler running Brushless motor will also last significantly longer, as it endures less damaging exposure to heat.
