Nice and easy trunking

Twin165 trunking, from Marshall_Tufflex, is perfect for buildings, such as schools, where cable management solutions for complex and large data installations are required to work alongside power delivery.

It is a medium-sized trunking with split compartments for power and data supplies with a greater capacity than traditional similar-sized trunking. Twin165 therefore eliminates the need for larger trunking.

It has a bend radius of 50mm, with adjustable internal and external bends for improved flexibility. Designed for straightforward installation and re-configuring, Twin165 is aesthetically pleasing with a modern finish.

Twin165 CAT 6 compliant trunking system had no trouble impressing both the head teacher of Ormiston Victory Academy and the Dodd Group’s project team of its specification merits for the academy’s new purpose-built building in Norwich. They needed a product that was robust, tamper-proof and cost effective. Equally, they wanted the trunking to look part of the room and work with the décor.

Marshall-Tufflex’s Twin165 trunking came out best when they looked at different cable management options and it provided value for money compared with the competition. They particularly liked the simplicity of its design and ease of installation when up against time. Some systems they considered were fragmented and not tamper-proof. Being a tamper-proof, all-in-one unit with double compartments, Twin165 gave them the depth of capacity required without being over-bearing in width, easily fitting spaces around windows and radiators.

It also gave them flexibility for future-proofing without disturbing the fabric of the building. Some 284 lengths of Twin165 in white with grey lids to meet DDA requirements were installed within the new academy building by Electrical Engineering Services, King’s Lynn. The product was supplied by Edmundson Electrical, Bury St Edmunds. The £11.7 million project was finished three months ahead of schedule. The enlarged school now accommodates 1,250 students.
