Wieland revos FLEX Connector System
Wieland Electric has just launched an addition to its revos FLEX modular hybrid connector system, the RJ45 module. revos is a range of industrial multi-pole connectors which are designed to provide the installer with a quick and easy solution for the installation of machines and systems. It is also possible to transmit optical signals and connect compressed air hoses – all within a robust, die-cast aluminium housing design.
The RJ45 module comes fully pre-assembled to save the installer having to pre-assemble in the field and is able to connect Ethernet cables. The RJ45’s outer connections are implemented with standard female connectors and the inner section contains two robust USB connectors of type B, this ensures that improper contact between the internal connectors is avoided. The module has eight contacts which provides space for additional bus solutions and the specification fulfills the CAT 5 requirements (<100Mbit/s) for fast ethernet applications.
revos FLEX has the option of four different frame sizes with two, three, five or seven module slots which can be inserted into the standard aluminum die-cast housing of revos BASIC in size 6 through 48. The module also has 28 different inserts for currents ranging from 1A to 82A and voltages up to 5.5 kV which ensures the system can be used in a variety of applications. A special feature of revos FLEX is that the modules can be easily latched in the module frame using directional coding thus saving on any further maintenance work. Furthermore, the modules can be detached easily without having to remove other modules saving time during hybrid solution pre-assembly or during maintenance.
