PowerBall Raises Funds, and the Roof!
Premier tribute band The Upbeat Beatles, one of Europe’s best and most entertaining party bands, The Bogus Brothers, a spectacular cabaret by artistes from the hit stage show Dancing In The Streets and the fantastic and ever popular Apache Disco, were just some of the ingredients of EEIBA powerBall held in The Great Room, in London’s Grosvenor House on 14 November.
Add to this a full house that included industry movers and shakers, a fantastic five star dinner, and a heaving dance floor, then it is no surprise that this very, very special event broke all records thanks to EEIBA supporters and ‘fundraisers’ such as, Tombola, a Grand Raffle, a Grand and a Silent Auction, and Stand-Up-Bingo, producing a fantastic £320,000, to go towards helping those from our industry who face difficult times.
“This evening is only possible thanks to our table hosts, sponsors and donors to whom I would like to express my appreciation on behalf of EEIBA," said President, Jim Speirs, during his welcome address. He continued, "So let’s celebrate together in the knowledge we are helping those people from our industry less fortunate than ourselves. EEIBA continues its vital work in an increasingly volatile economic climate. powerBall is one night when we can provide much needed help - and have a great time doing it.”
Powerball 2009 will take place on Friday 13 November. Those wishing to discuss potential sponsorships and to reserve their tables should do so as soon as possible by contacting EEIBA’s Head of Fundraising Operations, Pat Sheldrake, on: 0208 673 0131 or by email at: fundraising@eeiba.org
