Bosch Impact Drivers
Bosch now offers the “Flexible Power System” with the new Cordless Impact Drivers GDR 14.4 V-LI Professional and GDR 18 V-LI Professional and the Cordless Impact Wrenches GDS 14.4 V-LI Professional and GDS 18 V-LI Professional. This enables the user to choose the ideal battery pack for the job at hand. These Bosch impact drivers and wrenches are the first tools of their kind to offer the unique choice of two battery versions per voltage class (“Premium” and “Compact”).
The powerful “Premium” lithium-ion battery pack with 3.0 Ah now gives professional tradesmen a very long battery runtime for all screwdriving work in metal and wood. The “Compact” battery pack with 1.3 Ah is especially suitable for work in hard-to-reach areas and enables comfortable working due to its low weight (200 grams lighter than the “Premium” battery).
Another new feature is the LED charge level indicator on the Premium battery packs. It shows the user at all times how much energy is left in the battery. This saves time and unnecessary charging, therefore ensuring the greatest possible efficiency.
With their high torque and their high impact rate of 3,200 bpm, the new Cordless Impact Drivers GDR 14.4 V-LI Professional and GDR 18 V-LI Professional and the Cordless Impact Wrenches GDS 14.4 V-LI Professional and GDS 18 V-LI Professional provide fast work progress and a high level of convenience in every job. Their very short design offers perfect handling when driving screws in tight spaces or overhead. The GDR and GDS models differ from each other in terms of toolholder and maximum torque.
The innovative Premium lithium-ion technology from Bosch with its long battery runtime and 400 percent longer lifetime is vastly superior to other battery technologies. The long lifetime is thanks to the Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) from Bosch. It protects the battery against overload, overheating and total discharge. Moreover, the battery pack is so robust that it can withstand being dropped from a height of two meters onto concrete and remain fully functional. Another advantage of the Premium lithium-ion technology is the long battery runtime provided by the Bosch high-performance battery cells and the intelligent power management. The special cells with very low internal resistance and the high current capable design of the battery pack ensure low energy losses during charging and during operation. This results in extremely resilient battery packs with high performance capability. Moreover, the perfect coordination of the Bosch Hightech electronics with the motor and gearbox ensures high efficiency of the drive and optimum utilization of the power in the cells. Thanks to the “Hyper-Charge” technology from Bosch, the batteries are charged to 75 percent after only half of the charge time. There is also no memory effect and the batteries are fully ready for use, even if they have not been used for months.
The new impact drivers and wrenches from Bosch will be available at retail outlets from July 2009 onwards.
