Schneider electric shows support for access to education
Leading energy management specialists Schneider Electric has supported learning and development for underprivileged children in India, with a donation of £5,000 towards their education.
The company donated the money to the Loomba Trust, a charity set up to care for widows around the world. The contribution provided access to schools for 50 children of widowed mothers who would not usually be able to afford it. The children, from the state of Himachal Pradesh, are aged between 11 and 22 and contributing £100 to each child allows them to attend school for one year.
Peter Selway, marketing manager from Schneider Electric, said: "We have supported the Loomba Trust for two years now as we believe everyone should have the same opportunities to access education and develop their skills. The Trust is making a difference to so many people and we are proud to be associated with this worthy cause."
