Housing association specifies multi-sensing fire solution as standard

ANCHO, a progressive housing association in North Ayrshire, has chosen to use Aico's Multi-Sensor mains powered fire alarm as standard across its properties.

ANCHO has been using Aico systems in its 900 properties for around ten years - the decision to use the Multi-Sensor was based on its ability to detect a wide range of fire types quicker than single sensor alarms, whilst significantly reducing the chance of false alarms.

The Multi-Sensor achieves this through its two separate sensors - optical and heat. As such, the unit is capable of monitoring two very different by-products of a fire - smoke and heat - so its response to all fire types is significantly improved, when compared with traditional single sensor type units. This also makes it less vulnerable to false alarms.

The Multi-Sensor is now being used by ANCHO as the standard alarm for all its properties to replace existing fire alarms as they reach the end of their natural life. They are being installed as part of a four year Framework agreement covering 540 properties initially.
