High density cable management solution

Schroff UK has introduced 2-post and 4-post open patching frames and associated horizontal and vertical cable management products, designed for high cable density data centre and computer room installations.

The Cabletek family ensures that copper and fibre cable runs are optimised for ease of installation, cable density and protection. The heavy-duty free-standing aluminium frames are said to be easy to assemble, stable and rigid in use. The 2-post frame is rated to support a static load of up to 450kg, the 4-post up to 1,130 kg.

Available in 45U, 51U and 58U heights, 150, 250 and 305mm widths and single- and double-sided models, the vertical cable manager mounts on the sides of, or between the verticals in 2- and 4-post open frame racks.

Capacity at 60% fill is more than 1900 Cat 5e cables at the front and over a 1000 at the rear in a 300mm wide unit. A removable front cover opens through 180° to provide full access to the cables and deep fingers accept up to 85 Cat 5e cables per section.

Used in conjunction with the vertical cable managers are 1U and 2U horizontal cable managers, available as single-sided units in both heights with depths of 150mm, or as 2U double sided versions with 150mm fingers at the front and 230mm ones to the rear. A single sided unit will manage 66 Cat 5e cables in a 1U version, 208 in a 2U; the double sided ones will take a further 223 Cat 5e cables in the rear section. The deep cable compartments feature arrowhead finger ends that move readily apart during installation or removal and hold the inserted cables securely during use.
