SpliceLine is an innovative alternative to traditional butt splices that does not require time-consuming crimping, soldering or heat shrinking to create secure end-to-end connections. Utilising patented push-in connector technology, the unique two-port design provides a ‘maintenance free’ joint that is 3x faster to install than traditional crimped butt splices.
In addition, SpliceLine is precision-moulded from transparent polycarbonate that permits visual inspection of connections and contains a check port for continuity testing. Thanks to the shell’s ultraslim profile, multiple connectors can easily and simultaneously pass through the 20mm knockouts found in most electrical back boxes. The 32A / 450 V rating, small size and tool-free application makes SpliceLine the obvious solution for connecting wires in a range of applications, including prefabricated wiring, lighting and ring main circuits. SpliceLine connectors are also a great option when it is difficult, if not impossible, to use a crimp tool due to space restrictions.
Struggling to extend short wires in back-boxes is now a thing of the past as SpliceLine connectors accept up to 4.0mm² solid conductors, allowing one connector to do the job of multiple butt splices.
SpliceLine compliments Ideal’s popular range of In-Sure push-in wire connectors. Consisting of six connectors (two-port through to eight-port), each accepts a combination of 0.75mm² to 4.0mm² solid or 1.5mm² to 2.5mm² rigid stranded wires and provide electricians with a fast and modern method for making safe electrical connections. Up until the introduction of Ideal’s latest 2, 3 and 4 models, push-in connectors were primarily being used on lighting applications.
However, thanks to their 32A / 450V they are now being used in a much broader range of applications. The larger 5, 6 and 8 port connectors are rated to 24A / 450V. All of Ideal’s push-in wire connectors are classified as ‘maintenance free’ and are BS7671:2008 (17th Edition) compliant.
