Partnership helps charities to identify energy savings and reduce CO2

Energys Group and Utility Aid have announced a partnership that will enable charities and third-sector organisations to significantly reduce their energy costs.

As a result of the partnership, customers of Utility Aid, which is a full service utility consultancy that specialises in driving down the cost of energy for charities and not-for-profit organisation, will be able to benefit from a range of services designed to cut costs and reduce CO2, including a free energy-savings audit.

Delivered through Energys Group, multi-layered levels of support are available through the partnership. Services range from a free energy audit (which will assess potential savings from boiler controls, energy-efficient lighting, voltage optimisation, and compressed air-leakage surveys), guidance on the selection of appropriate energy saving technologies, and the installation and maintenance of these technologies.

Significantly, Energys is also able to provide Utility Aid customers with an ‘off-balance sheet’ funding/leasing scheme designed to help charities fund the purchase of new and energy efficient equipment. This funding scheme requires no capital investment and allows the organisation to pay for the equipment from the energy savings achieved.

A range of ‘best of breed’ energy efficient retrofit technologies are available from Energys as part of the scheme. This includes the Save It Easy patented plug in adapter that allows users to replace old style fluorescent lamps with energy-efficient equivalents. Save It Easy utilises existing light fittings and wiring and generally there are no modifications required, resulting in minimal disruption during the installation period.

Once installed, Save It Easy can help charities unlock energy savings of up to 65%. If funded using Energys’ leasing scheme, this level of saving is usually sufficient to more than cover the cost of the annual rental for Save It Easy lighting. This in turn will help charities to free-up capital budget for critical projects.

In addition to utilising Save It Easy to generate significant energy savings, the partnership with Utility Aid also supports the use of a range of lighting solutions including LED replacements for GU10, MR16, AR111 and 2D lamps. Other retrofit technologies such as voltage optimisation and boiler controls are also available.
