Get charged up - to charge forward

In 2013, sales of electric vehicles doubled, making EV one of the fastest growing areas of the UK automotive market. Growing demand means a growing need for the charging infrastructure required to keep electric Britain moving.

To meet this increased demand from installers, NAPIT introduced The City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Domestic, Commercial and Industrial Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation course. The course is available at NAPIT’s Mansfield Training centre, as well as its flagship South West NAPIT Training Centre in Bristol. The course will also be coming soon to the Premier Training Services centre in Oldham.
This year the NAPIT EXPO, part of the International Festival for Business 2014, will also be bringing innovative, free EV charging point installation training taster sessions to the Rum Warehouse, Liverpool, on Wednesday 9 July.
Commenting on this unique opportunity for prospective installers, NAPIT Chief Operating Officer Martin Bruno said:  “Now is the time to get involved in this exciting emerging market. The Government has dedicated £400 million to support ultra low emission vehicles to 2015 and a further £500 million from 2015 to 2020. Those interested in getting involved may not be aware that the UK currently has one of the most extensive support packages in the world for EV, including; discounts for eligible vehicles, grants for charging points, and a growing network of rapid charging points which one MP has recently suggested will be Europe's best by 2015.[ In light of increasing demand, I encourage anyone interested in the prospects presented by this new growth area to come along to NAPIT EXPO and learn more about EV charging point installation”
