David Dossett awarded MBE in Queen’s Birthday Honours (15 June 2011)
David Dossett was awarded an MBE this week for services to the Electrical Manufacturing Industry. A key industry figure for 25 years, David led the successful campaign against the harmonisation of plugs and socket outlets in Europe and coordinated the BEAMA worldwide campaign against the counterfeiting of electrical equipment.

BEAMA Welcomes Renewable Heat Incentive, but calls for ‘quick announcement’ of 2012 tariffs (30 March 2011)
BEAMA has welcomed the Government’s announcement of the new Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) commencing July 2011. However, with some delays in clarity on the detail of eligibility and tariffs into the future, the association says there is a question mark over the impact it will have on the domestic market short term.

Charter to Combat Counterfeiters (17 March 2008)
BEAMA has joined forces with the EDA (Electrical Distributors Association), ECA (Electrical Contractors Association) and SELECT (Scotland’s trade association for the electrical, electronics and communications systems industry) to create a Charter in the fight to combat the ‘trade’ in counterfeits, and the proliferation of products failing to comply with the appropriate standards.
