Top marks for Mita at North Leamington school

Schneider Electric's range of Mita cable management systems has provided the solution to all the small power and data trunking for North Leamington High School, a new build secondary school in the Warwickshire market town.

Top marks for Mita at North Leamington school

Electrical contractor, PWP, has installed more than 2,000 metres of Mita Cableline Prima 60, a three compartment PVC trunking. The school is spread across five buildings, with a central hub leading via External Pathways to three faculty buildings and a sports hall. Mita Cabeline
Prima 60 contains power, telephone, IT, multimedia and TV cabling across the whole complex, as well as cabling feeding the school's interactive white boards. It has also been installed at high level throughout the corridors to manage cabling for the fire and intruder alarm systems, CCTV and access control system.

Explains Ross Daniel from PWP, "The school required a trunking system that was not only neat and unobtrusive but one that would also enable us to futureproof the installation. Mita Cableline Ultra 60 is suitable for CAT 5e, CAT 6, CAT 7 and fibre optic cabling and its dedicated data compartment can hold up to 48 UTP CAT 6 cables, ensuring that the school can add to its data requirements quickly and easily as the need arises."

The smooth profiles and corners of Prima 60 made the completed installation look very neat and tidy. Complementing the system are Mita DDA plates to ensure that the sockets are easily visible along the trunking for visually impaired staff and students."
