NHS Direct chooses the right light
Luxo has supplied the NHS Direct call centre in Wakefield with 94 Air Wall LED (light emitting diode) task lights in black and chrome, complete with bespoke fixing brackets that integrated perfectly with a Flexiform desktop screen.
These energy efficient task lights benefit from a modern take on Luxo’s renowned spring balanced arm technology, provide precise lighting on the task area and are adjustable and adaptable to the needs of each operator in this busy 24 hour call centre. By incorporating the task light in to the screen valuable desk space is saved.
Air LED has a very pleasing colour temperature of 3000k, its colour rendering is 90 and the light source is provided by a cluster of just 3 x 3 watt LED’s with standby power of 0.2 watt. It will operate for 25 years in a regular office setting or more than 5 years in continuous use. LED’s fade gradually rather than fail, thereby giving prior notice should it ever become necessary to replace the lamp.
Air LED has an asymmetric reflector which guarantees that it wont cause glare or reflection or disturb colleagues. It has been proven that task lighting can increase the feeling of well-being amongst staff; good task lighting can also aid health and safety issues brought about by inadequately lit offices.
